Below is a wish list of sub-projects, improvements, and random acts of kindness the Evergreen software project could benefit from. This is intended to be a starting point for those wishing to contribute development time to Evergreen. The goals are not listed in any order, though some items will be more helpful in the short term than others. Thanks and happy coding!

• Improve / Streamline the install process. This includes moving the current build process to the GNU Build Tools (Automake/Autoconf, etc.) as well as a general cleanup of the build and install process.

• A process for creating a bootable live CD with Evergreen pre-installed.

• Gentoo ebuild, RPM, and Debian .deb files for installing Evergreen. Help us design/build an installation toolkit for dependency fulfillment, etc. Create a proposal and send it to the dev mailing list or start a discussion over there.

• Help with OpenNCIP: http://www.openncip.org – SIP2 is working like a champ, so it's time to think about NCIP proper!

• Create VMWare images of different configuration sizings and complexities

• Some “old-school dudes” have expressed interest in a client with command-line interface
